A poignant melancholic family drama that follows two estranged sisters, Nora and Agnes, whose lives are disrupted when their egomaniacal and long absent father Gustav, a celebrated filmmaker, returns for their mother’s funeral and announces he wants to make a comeback film based on their family’s traumatic history. When Nora refuses to participate in the film, Gustav brings in a Hollywood star to play her, which only adds to the tension. The film explores estrangement, art versus exploitation, the ethics of mining pain for creative work, and reconciliation between the sisters and their father.
