Synopsis
This daring Zambian film begins with a sudden death and expands into a story set during a multi-day funeral. Shula finds herself confronting long-buried truths about abuse, silence and complicity. Director Nyoni (I Am Not a Witch) creates a grounded, dreamlike tone. Susan Chardy makes a fine debut. Best Director at Cannes (Un Certain Regard).
