Synopsis
A beautifully delicate and nuanced concoction of a film, My Favourite Cake, co-written and directed by Iranian filmmakers Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha, explores themes of love, regret and second chances with nuance and grace. About Cinema Club
Founded in Spring 2025, bringing the best of indie cinema and more to Medway, Electric Medway Cinema Club is chance to catch the movies that may have passed you by, or you would never have considered seeing!
Cinema Club events may start with an XR short - such as a film, virtual reality or augmented reality experience - all commissioned by Electric Medway and from local creators. You'll get an idea of both the work we do and the talent in the area. There will be opportunity to discuss the feature film afterwards.
🍿🥤 A limited number of soft drinks and popcorn will be available to purchase, so please also feel free to bring your own!
Stay and Chat
After the screening, we invite you to join a relaxed post-film discussion at local craft beer pub Wolfe & Castle. Share your thoughts on the story, performances, cinematography or whatever aspect of the film resonated with you. It's a casual opportunity to connect with fellow film enthusiasts and exchange perspectives. No film analysis expertise required – just bring your impressions and experiences!
