Synopsis
TILKA is an intimate portrait of five women who meet to create an original play with Seenaryo amid Lebanon’s collapse. The film weaves together each woman’s individual story with a collective narrative of displacement, motherhood and hope told through the play. It is Seenaryo’s debut documentary, directed by Myriam Geagea.
TILKA won Best Local Documentary at the Lebanese Independent Film Festival, a Special Jury Mention at the Beirut Women Film Festival and premiered in the UK at Cambridge Film Festival.
Director Myriam Geagea describes the film as “a testament to the transformative power of art and self-expression.”
