Synopsis
A haunting and emotionally rich period drama, Gods and Monsters is a fictionalized account of the final days of Dudley-born director James Whale, renowned for the horror classics Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
Directed by Bill Condon, and starring Ian McKellen, Brendan Fraser, and Lynn Redgrave, the film explores Whale’s memories of war, his sexuality, and his unexpected friendship with his young gardener.
