Synopsis
Told in hushed tone, this eco-parable is set in a remote Japanese village, where a widowed father and his daughter live in harmony with nature until the prospect of a ‘glamping’ site development rears its head.
Some long takes, ambient sounds, and an evocative score by Eiko Ishibashi make this a poetic experience, yet there is plenty of drama. An unusual and often beautiful film.
