WHY WATCH THIS FILM? It’s the first Indian film to receive the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024.
“All We Imagine as Light is a quiet drama about fragility, beauty and kinship, and what it takes to keep going in ordinary, difficult times. . . It’s worth mentioning upfront that it is also flat-out wonderful, one of the finest of the year.” New York Times
“These are ordinary lives, with small sadnesses, twinging regrets and sparks of joy. But through Kapadia’s empathetic lens we realise that these women, like the city that never entirely feels like home for any of them, contain multitudes.” The Guardian
“Even as she explores age-old themes around displacement and finding yourself, Kapadia's light touch means this is a film that carries you with it, buoying you up and bathing you in its ideas. You emerge feeling lighter and cleansed.” Eye for Film
