Ayr Film Society has been in operation for 50 plus years and endeavours to provide an interesting, varied and eclectic mix of independent, contemporary, classic, English and Foreign language films also including animations and documentary films. The Society works hard to boast a diverse programme of thought-provoking and challenging films. It is an award winning society mainly for its programming.

Screenings at Ayr Town Hall, seating in Main Auditorium in either stalls or balcony, also at the local Merlin Cinema (the Astoria) where we use their Screen 2 from time to time.

The Society is regularly shortlisted at the Film Society of the Year Awards, run by Cinema for All. Check out all awards, and the archive of films screened, at the website www.ayrfilmsociety.co.uk

The society runs weekly between August/September and March each year. Members are always consulted through weekly reaction charts so that the committee always have information to assist with programming in the future.
