Jordans Picture House is a true community cinema. We hold twice-monthly screenings in the village hall in our small village in Buckinghamshire (pop. approx 600), which was founded by the Quakers and retains an extremely strong community spirit. The age demographic is higher than average and there are many residents with an interest in the arts. Being relatively close to both Pinewood and Ealing studios and also the National Film & TV School in nearby Beaconsfield, a number of villagers have an association with the film industry.

Following the commencement of our screenings in late 2016 virtually all were over-subscribed, with bookings being taken two months in advance. We aim to select a broad variety of films to appeal to all sections of the community. Operating within the very heart of the village we enable the less mobile of our residents to enjoy a very sociable, entertaining evening without the difficulties of travel.

Feedback from our audiences has been extremely positive and thanks to the efforts of our band of volunteers Jordans Picture House has firmly established itself as one of the "go to" activities within the village.

We were extremely pleased to receive an award of projection equipment from the BFI Neighbourhood Cinema Equipment Fund early in 2017, which set us up to deliver extremely high quality screenings and provide our audiences with a memorable experience.

Further to this we were delighted to receive a commendation from Cinema For All in their 2017 award category "Best New Society".

This has now been topped by our proudest achievement: WINNING the 2019 award for Best Single Event, for our immersive screenings commemorating the WW1 Armistice centenary over a weekend in November 2018.
