The Ellon Cinema is based in the Victoria Hall in Ellon and is a group aligned to The Victoria Hall Trust and operates on behalf of the Management Committee. It is run totally by volunteers for the benefit of the community of Ellon and local districts. Cinema has featured as a routine entertainment for the community in the Hall off and on since 1901 the first year of its opening.  The film shows are put on by visiting specialists and since January 2013, it has been organised by the new Ellon Cinema group using 2k digital equipment brought in and operated by Film Mobile Scotland.  The Hall has been equipped with a Cinema surround sound system funded by the Lottery and the current quest is to procure its own projector/server system to enable better flexibility and a wider programme ot be provided.
