Thornham Village Cinema
Thornham Village Cinema (TVC) started in April 2011 in the old Drill Hall with own equipment and volunteer team. TVC screens a monthly film with average audience of 75. In September 2013 TVC moved to the New Village Hall and began additional regular Live Satellite shows following dish & Icecrypt decoder installation.
Live broadcasts from ROH Covent Garden, RSC, NT, Glyndebourne. The venue provides safe flat easy access with level tarmac and gravel parking, licensed bar, air conditioning and full toilet facilities for able bodied and handicapped. Comfortable seating, and from August 2016 7.2 surround sound improving dialogue clarity and concert hall ambiance for Opera and ballet music. High Definition NEC 5200 projector installed January linked to the new Surround System provides optimum audio visual experience. Projector granted from successful application to BFI Neighbourhood Equipment Fund. The licensed bar and supply Ronaldo's Icecream are very popular.
