Synopsis

Additional Info

Follow fisherman Hans Unkles’ attempts to build the UK’s first Carbon Zero, solar-powered fishing boat. With the help of his fellow fishermen, he dismantles his old vessel and spends almost a year reassembling it as he learns and tests the latest technology. Mistakes blot his path, along with comments and opinions from other fishermen, but Hans is determined to produce the first all-electric boat on the UK Fishing Register.

Taking place in the scenic Argyll village of Tayvallich, this documentary is an entirely locally-made effort from filmmaker Joe Osborn and scored by Argyll composer John Wills. Set sail with one man’s pioneering vision, and the strong community supporting him in his venture.

Additional Info

Canaletto & the Art of Venice is an immersive journey into the life and art of Venice’s famous view-painter. No artist better captures the essence and allure of the city than Giovanni Antonio Canal, better known as Canaletto.

“Impeccable production values, comprehensive, a plethora of historical detail and nicely shot” The Guardian The film offers the chance to step inside two official royal residences – Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle – to learn more about the artist, and Joseph Smith, the man who introduced Canaletto to Britain.

“Perfect for those wanting an introduction to his work and life, based around a stunning public exhibition” Daily Mirror Viewers will embark on their very own 21st century Grand Tour, visiting the sites enjoyed by their 18th century counterparts and immortalised in Canaletto’s views – from the Rialto Bridge to the Piazza San Marco, and the Palazzo Ducale to the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo. The film is an opportunity to get closer to Canaletto and the city that inspired him.

Radiohead X Nosferatu

Synopsis

Additional Info

An unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Nosferatu (1922) is the quintessential silent vampire film, crafted by legendary German director F. W. Murnau. Rather than depicting Dracula as a shape-shifting monster or debonair gentleman, Murnau’s Graf Orlok (as portrayed by Max Schreck) is a nightmarish, spidery creature of bulbous head and taloned claws — perhaps the most genuinely disturbing incarnation of vampirism yet envisioned. Silent Synced pairs classic silent movies with beloved rock music to bring audiences an utterly unique, transformative big screen experience; this is Nosferatu as you’ve never heard it before.
