Northrepps Film Society

We are a thriving local film society (we call ourselves a society although we don't have a membership scheme) showing a film on the first Thursday of the month from Sept. to April. We aim to show quality films from any country or period only excluding recent box-office hits, although one or two of those have slipped into our programme. We try to foster both our more conservative-minded audience and our more arts-minded one and managed to attract an average of about 45 people per film in our first season; we hope to push that up to 55 in 2014-15. We find people come not just for the film but also to socialise over a cup of tea or glass of wine before it starts. I think it’s fair to say that everyone involved, team and audience alike, are delighted to have such a society in the village.
