Farthinghoe Film Club

We're a fledgling film club with an improvised setup, arranging our films to accompany social evenings.  We've so far chosen to use a small selection of venues in our village as a host for the movie, be it in our own stone barn or garden.

We screen favourite British and international cinema-released films from personal collections or libraries, but are looking to increase our scope to show a wider season of films.  Our equipment is always improving, and the audience is always keen to forgive the ad-hoc nature and join in and soak up the atmosphere.  We'll be seeking funding to help grow our club and it's scope.

Our screenings are mostly limited to an invited audience of friends but we're now open to general public.  The entry fee charged on those occasions is to cover the licence fees and catering overheads, with any residual funds put back into making the Film Club better for the next occasion, so the bigger the audience, the better it will get.  We have recently Dolby Surround, and we will be looking to install stage curtaining and enhance the sound proofing with the aid of local grants and fundraisers.
