Diglis Basin Film Club
Diglis Basin Film Club is a private members club serving the community of Diglis, Worcester and wider afield, we are now in our second year.
The DBFC cinema is based in the Sea Cadets boating station on Portland Walk by the River Severn at Diglis. At present we have weekly screenings on Saturdays and matinées mid-month on a Sunday afternoon, accompanied with afternoon tea! Light refreshments are available on Saturdays including hot dogs!
A mix of new and old films are shown, using 4k projection with Dolby surround sound, in a cosy relaxed atmosphere. We also have special themed events of concerts, opera and ballet. As we are a club suggestions for films are most welcome. Short talks and a discussion group may also be part of the events and of course it is a great place to meet new people!
Annual membership fee, currently £15, is payable upon becoming a member, this covers the film licensing costs to the MPLC. Entrance to each screening is currently £5 to cover room hire and overheads; cash and card payments are acceptable for this. Due to licensing restrictions we must distribute film information to members privately, so you will have to become a member to receive all the film details. So far we have screened over 69 films since our inauguration in June 2023. We have also just joined Cinema for All which means we will be able to show more films to the general public through their hire scheme. Entrance fees for these will be dependant on the film.
