Broughton Film Club
The Broughton film club was formed in July 2005 following a community meeting when local people were asked to identify what facilities they would support at the Victory Hall following its major refurbishment programme. The club aims to provide people of all ages an enjoyable evening of entertainment which helps to encourage them to socialise and make new friends with a view to enhancing community involvement in the village and the surrounding area. Performances are held in the Victory Hall where there is a sizeable auditorium capable of seating over 150 people and which has a permanent retractable full size cinema screen plus surround sound speakers. Films are shown each month and seating is usually arranged in 'cabaret' style with tables and chairs laid out for the average audience size of about 40 people. Wine and soft drinks are available before and sometimes during film performances. Also, the local Square Cafe offers a 'Meal Deal' on film nights which offers a three course dinner and a seat for the film performance at a preferential price.
